Posting Information for Announcements

In the old forum I was seeing a lot of "off topic announcements" and "club penguin announcements" were being put in this forum. May I please stress to you all that this forum is for announcements concerning the forum as a whole, the users and the features. Some examples of posts that do go in this forum are;

1- A significant period of time when you are away from the forum. (Preferably in the departures and arrivals thread, but just post them in any category they can fit into)

2- When you reach a certain rank and/or number of posts.

3- When you are leaving the site permanently. (Please post in the departures/arrivals thread)

4- When you are new to the forum and wish to introduce yourself to the "forum regulars". (Please post in the departures/arrivals thread)

Of course there are many more as well, and if you think there are any more points that I need to add, please contact me (preferably through PM, not e-mail).

May I also stress about point number two. Do not post everytime you get 10 or 20 posts etc. There is no need for it. Apart from the fact that nobody really cares about how many posts you've got when you keep posting the amount of posts you have, every week, it also clogs the whole of the announcements up. I see certain users did this everyweek on the old CPC, and I'm not going to point fingers at people, but you know who you are! Posting every 100-200 posts should be adequate for everybody!

Now I'd also like to give a few examples of posts that do not belong in this forum!

1- Announcements regarding Club Penguin, Runescape etc. (For example; "The Summer Party has Officially Started"). These type of posts belong in the Club Penguin General Discussion Forum.

2- "Off Topic Announcements". (For example; "I Have Bought a Dog!" or "My School Had a Day Off Today!") Please post these so called "off topic" announcement threads in the Anything Goes Within Forum Rules Forum, or if you have access to them; any of the special forums.

Please bare all of this in mind, and enjoy the new and improved club penguin forum!

No, as far as I know normal users can not post in the announcements. And i assumed that it was a fault in the system when Scotthp did.

Where did you get that idea from xtreme? Normal users can post in announcements, just look at the users that have made posts in this thread. And I'll make changes where they're needed.
