Money: 1,959 | So... Have you ever heard of the book Exodus? It's an AWESOME book written by the writer Julie Bertagna. I bought it when I went to Myrtle Beach with my friend and my family and I loved it to pieces. I finished it in about two days, I was so into it! Here's a picture of the book's cover. http://www.clubpenguincheat.com/foru...1&d=1255999577 About De Book (NOT MY WORDS!) This Whitbread award children's book is so powerful, it had me absorbed and helpless for days. Definitely for teenagers and adults rather than younger children, it is an exploration of the future, when sea levels have risen dramatically. Mara is a fifteen year old girl with vision and determination, living a subsistence level life on one of the few remaining islands in the North. Storms rage all winter and blistering hot summers send the sea level rising every year. Technology is long defunct in her community, but she has a relic from the past that she uses to explore the old ruins of an old-world virtual reality internet equivalent, The Weave. Her discovery of some New World cities built out of the sea bed into the sky, gives her an idea to save her community. When the refugee convoy reach the New World city they find that humanity has split into two groups, the intellectual elite live lives totally cut off from the Earth and reality in their techno world, while the outcasts and refugees eke out existence in the netherworld, among the drowned ruins of the old world city. To save her people Mara has to work an even more daring plan, infiltrate the New World city, cope with its sophisticated technology and find someone she can trust. Bravery, self doubt, trust, love, and care for humanity are all powerful emotions that drive this engrossing story. It is too near the possible truth to dismiss as mere futuristic fantasy, so it is not a cozy read, but faith in the ultimate good nature and noble spirit of the few gives hope for mankind's eventual survival. Read this for a great story, but not if you're feeling fragile, this is no escapist read. ^.^ One of my favorite stories including The Tale of Desperaux and quite a few others. I'm tempted to share the small intro to the book. It's small. Just a page long but really made me think... Once upon a time there was a world... ... a world full of miracles. From the whirl of the tiniest particles to its spinning orbit in the unthinkable vastness of space, this world danced with miraculous life. Ur, the first people called their beautiful world, and the sound of that early name would carry down all the years, until eons of time and tongues ripened Ur into Earth. The people feasted upon their ripe world. Endlessly, they harvested its land and seas. They grew greedy, ravaging the planet's bounty of miracles. Their waste and destruction spread like a plague until a day came when this plague struck at the very heart of the miraculous dance. And the people saw, too late, their savage desolation of the world. The globe grew hot and fevered, battered by hurricanes and rain. Oceans and rivers rose to drown the cities and wasted lands. Earth raged with a century of storm. Then came a terrible calm. Imagine the vast, drowned ruin of a world washed clean. Imagine survivors scattered upon lonely peaks, clinging to the tips of skyscrapers, to bridges and treetops. Now backtrack to the dawn of the world's drowning. Stand at the fragile moment before the devastation begins, and wonder: is this where we stand now, right here on the brink? I loved dis book. ^.^ Erm... So... I know that was a lot and probably no one read this but has anyone read this or would anyone LIKE to read it?

Money: 1,959 | ... It's not drama. It's more like Science Fiction. Suspenseful, too.

Money: 1,959 | :/ Ahhhhh whatever. If you don't find suspense exciting and breath-taking then oh well. Can't change that.
