I"m pretty sure they are like one-word descriptions of your post.
So that when users Search a Thread about "yellow puffle" and you tagged your post as "yellow puffle, new puffles," than your post will show up.
Like on Youtube.
If you type in "Skiing"
A video about Skiing Disastears may appear because a person tagged the video as "Skiing"
They are like keywords of your thread.
