Default letters in runescape!

In Runescape, I've been hoping for a different way of communication other than something that requires you to be online. My solution was having pieces of paper that you could write on and trade to other players. It will also serve as a great reminder to do something. Keep it in your inventory to remember what you were doing before you signed off.

Requirements

Write on:

Parchment, stone slab, Dragonhide, or plain paper

Notes: Different paper appears different when opened

Write with:

Pen, pencil, chisel, or quil

Notes: Quill needs ink bottle, pencil needs a sharpener occasionally, pen needs ink refills occasionally

Ink type:

Redberry juice, cadavara berry, drained blood from raw meat, smelted (but not hardened yet) silver or gold (makes shiney writing), other metals for different shiny colors (Mithril- blue/purple. Adament- green. Runite- light blue)

Mail using:

Demon Servant, Mysterious Old Man, The Note Lady, Imp Mail Man, Post Office (see below)

Notes: You have to pay to get a person to deliver for you, but the post office is the cheapest (10gp for 1 letter)

You can also activate a "Mailbox". You would have to go to a post office to access this. When you send a letter to someone (10gp per letter) the letter appears in their mailbox the next time they sign on. Also, just like the Grand Exchange, a message would appear in the chat window telling you that you have mail in your box.

Runescape censors apply in the letters, and alt codes have no effect. For example, if you tryed to send a link, it would be censored and starred out, and alt codes wouldn't appear when entered.

You could pick up your mail at different post offices, in major towns like Varrock, Falador, or Lumbridge. Rimmington wouldn't have one, though, since it is such a small town.

Your mailbox would provide a bank-like interface, presenting you with all the letters that have been received. The mailbox can only hold so many letters, depending on what model you have. There is a post office box, which is F2P and can only be checked at a post office, which can only hold 100 letters. For P2P, there is a POH box (see below).
Mailboxes in your PoH
When a player reaches 15 contruction, the ability to build a mailbox on a hotspot in their house arises. To build a mailbox, you need 10 nails, 5 planks, and 1 bar of steel.

There are different kinds of mailboxes. They are listed from the worst to the best. The better the mailbox, the more mail it can hold.

Oak- Holds 200 letters
Willow- Holds 250 letters
Teak- Holds 300 letters
Maple- Holds 350 letters
Mahogany- Holds 400 letters
Yew- Holds 450 letters
Magic- Holds 500 letters
The Magic Tree mailbox can be enchanted to hold 1,000 letters.

Enchant Mailbox Spell
Requirements- 3 cosmic runes, 5 nature runes, and 2 fire runes
Must have level 75 magic.
Effect- Magic Mailbox's capacity is doubled
Another bonus to having a POH Mailbox is the abiliy to subscribe to the Varrock Herald. You could choose the amount of issues you want to receive before the subscription expires, and pay the price. When the subscription expires, you will receive a message in your mailbox telling you that it has.

Another problem may be that your mailbox may be spammed by other players. You could fix this by making your mailbox available to

Quote:
[b]A: The Public
B: Friends and Clan Members
C: Only Friends
D: Nobody/Mailbox Offline
Finally, if you want to block letters from a certain person, just add them to your ignore list.

A Letter to Zezima
This is an example of what a finished letter (opened from inventory) would look like.
