Remember the time you joined Clubpenguin? How you didn't know where to waddle to next? Well, in this guide, I will explain what the basics are about joining, what to do/not do, and some other healthy tips to get you on the path to success in Clubpenguin!
1.) You've joined!
Congratulations on creating your Clubpenguin account! Now, you are a new, colorful, penguin, waddling around in a community with many other colorful penguins! But, what can you do here? Well, basically, you have fun. The Clubpenguin community (Clubpenguin island) is made up of small towns which are all-alike, called
servers. Each server has a Town, Plaza, Cove and so forth. You can go anywhere on the map just by clicking on it, but wait a minute, what's the map? The map is an icon in the lower left corner of your screen that shows you around the area, for instance: your buddy told you to meet him or her in the Forest. You can open up your map and hover your mouse over buildings and wildlife to find areas, but how do you find the Forest? The Forest will have an orangish-yellowish tag over it when your mouse "hovers" over the designated area, which will say the name of the place. This goes with all of the areas in Clubpenguin. Every player is allowed to the rooms, so don't believe it when someone says "You can't come here!"
2.) Games
Games are typically known in Clubpenguin for their coin rewards, which allow you to purchase various things in Clubpenguin. But, games can also be just for fun! If you like working in the Coffee Shop, I would like to reccomend waddling on over to the "Java" bags next to the counter and seeing what happens! So remember, games are for more than coins.
*Note- games ALWAYS have the tag above them with the game's name, so just keep looking out for them and you'll be fine!
3.) The community
The community varies from server to server. In servers like Frozen you have the more popular crowd, while in servers like Half-Pipe, you get a more calm and collected (also newer) crowd to hang out with.
Penguins normally act mean or discouraging to other penguins; don't let this hurt you! The penguin insulting you has no reason to, because they don't know you in real life. So, if someone says "You're not cute," don't accept that remark and simply waddle away. You're only not cute if you accept that, so don't accept it!
Common penguins throw parties in their igloos to show how fun they can be, or just for a gathering. You can always participate in these, no matter what! But, please remember, if the host asks you to leave, just waddle on out and find another party, because you don't want to make the host mad.
4.) Membership
Being a non-member doesn't make you any less of a penguin; but being a member does give you some advantages. While members do have to pay $5.00/month ($60.00/year), you get many cool things! Like these:
-Clothes
-Igloo furniture
-Igloo upgrades
-Igloo carpet
-Member parties (sneak peaks of rooms)
-Wigs
-Open your igloo and have a party
-Edit your igloo
-More room in Clubpenguin!
So, all-in-all, it doesn't hurt to be a member.
5.) You're started!
Now you're ready to be a retro member of the Clubpenguin community! Follow the healthy tips above and you'll be a great penguin in no-time!
